     The Sundaes – Silverstone Summer

You said I should be prepared
Not to worry
Reassured me, don’t be scared
So I hurried
But we are going to an open place
Where the wind can freeze your nose
         Right off your face.

The rain, the wind, the sleet
Getting trench foot in both feet
The rain, the wind the snow
It must be summer here, here (here)……in Silverstone.

A heatwave, cold front, deep depression
All four seasons in just one qualifying session
Sunburned one minute then chilled to the bone
At a race throughout the world that’s known
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The rain, the wind, the sleet
Getting trench foot in both feet
The rain, the wind the snow
It must be summer here, here (here)……in Silverstone.

Testing at Silverstone can be testing,
Woolly hat, long johns
Tuck your vest in.
There’s a story I’ve been told
That Finnish drivers turn it down
Because it’s more than 5 degrees too cold.

The rain, the wind, the sleet
Getting trench foot in both feet
The rain, the wind the snow
It must be summer here……… here, here, here (here)……in Silverstone.
