Argon Argon -
Car Cymraeg (A Car for Wales)
("Rhys Gruffydd" and "Bip Boom")
from the fictitious concept album Fibre Class - the Story
Of Gilbern
I didn’t doubt
for a minute that you were sincere
That you would build a car in Wales by the end of the year
I got my hopes up high
And so did my friend Dai
That you could build a car in Wales
But somehow the plans went right off the rails
I was the Bishop, and
you were the Padre
You built your cars from glass fibre
In a town called Llantwit Fardre,
It spent most of its time up on it's jacks
The engine was English, built by Coventry-Climax
(Yes it was)
The Genie was cool, and
so was the Invader
In black it looked a little like Sith lord Darth Vader
It was ahead of it’s time, a bit like me
So production ended way back in Seventy-Three
(Yes it did)
#<In The Welsh language>#
<Dwi eisio gyrru car Cymraeg>
I wanna drive a Welsh car
<Car s’yn goch fel Y Ddraig>
This is a policy I’m sticking to
<Wel sticio at hwnnw sydd rhaid>
I wanna a red car, like a dragon
<Car Cymraeg>
A Welsh car
<Car Cymraeg>
A car from Wales, uh-hu yeah
<Car Cymraeg>
A car from Wales
<Car Cymraeg>
