Ready When You Are Mr. Jones

Gareth Jones recently swapped his usual position in front of the camera for a seat behind it, in the director's chair. The Welsh presenter has been directing his partner, Violet Berlin, as she hosts a new kind of prime time review show aimed at 20-somethings, called Game-Pad2.

Game-Pad2 is to video games what "Film 2002" is to movies. It's an intelligent approach to previews, reviews, features and special reports from the world of interactive entertainment.

Jones and Berlin also produced the 20 x 30 minute episodes together, on behalf of their independent television production company, WhizzBang TV.

"I have overseen just about every element of the show to make sure that it looks and behaves like the version Violet and I have in our heads", said Gareth at WhizzBang TV's London HQ today: "I have been living, thinking and breathing GamePad2, and I'm very proud of the series. I have to admit it makes me smile broadly to see Directed and Produced by Gareth Jones at the end of each show."

Jones also adds 'reporter' to his growing list of credits. As Berlin was about to report from a motor race, for the Game-Pad Driving Games Special, she was urgently called away, so petrol-headed Jones simply stepped in front of the camera and finished the report. Talk about multi-tasking!
