12 Years and How2 is Still Hot!

The 12th series of How 2 has now been recorded. The usual team of Gareth, Fred
and Gail got together in Glasgow this Autumn to make
it happen.
Be warned, the new episodes do have a dark side... this year, Gareth gets to
study poo, indulge in a mucus and ear wax fling-a-thon with Fred, and risk a
gory end by lying on a real bed of nails. Of course, it is all done in the best
possible taste, as the team have loads of fun answering great questions that
all ask – HOW?
Dung and laceration aside, Gareth's highlight of the series was getting the chance to re-create a stunt made famous by Charlie Chaplin. He and the team also make appearances as clubbing socialite grasshoppers, left-handed knights in shining armour, gophers that run backwards and Japanese crows that understand traffic lights.
Although the filming went very well indeed (bar the odd expensive props being accidentally destroyed by the presenters, ahem, no names mentioned here) things did look rather more serious for a moment when Gail McKenna trussed up in a tight fitting Victorian dress and working in temperatures over 90 degrees, succumbed to the heat for a moment and passed out on the set. The giant studio doors were opened briefly to allow a cool blast of Scottish wind in, which rapidly dropped the room temperature to a degree or two above freezing, and soon put things right. Being a real pro, in just a few minutes Gail had recovered her composure and was well enough to work again. She went on to join Gareth and perform a story about posh Victorians and their man servant - Dinenage, regarded by the production team to be one of the single funniest moments is in the entire series.
Catch that moment in the 12th series of How 2 to be shown in the UK on CiTV in
January 2002.
