Gareth Meets a Sticky End

Filming has just finished for the fifth series of ITV's popular children's science show, "The Big Bang".  At thirteen episodes, this is the longest ever run, and also the one that - for Gareth at least - has the stickiest end.

" The past three months have provided many memorable moments" explained Gareth's co-presenter Violet Berlin, "But perhaps none so alarming as the final shot of all, where I leave Gareth securely gaffer-taped two metres up a wall, to demonstrate the power of glue. For all I know he's still there".

During the making of this series the team performed a variety of unfeasible feats...

Gareth, Violet and is it a jellyfish? Is it an alien spacecraft?
Or is it jsut a giant paper donut?

Gareth and Violet as The Duke of Buckingham and Mary Anning

...they built a giant donut made from paper; employed the use of tracker dogs, infra-red cameras and helicopters in a game of  "ultimate hide-and-seek" descended 1km below ground to look for the missing matter of the universe; and, risked being washed away by a rapidly moving tide at Rutcliffe Bay, telling the story of eccentric dinosaur-hunter Mary Anning.

Luckily, each time they lived to tell the tale, which you can witness for yourself by tuning in to The Big Bang. Every Tuesday, 4:45pm, ITV.
