Training Shows You How

Gareth put on his glad rags for a big show recently. He was asked to be the Master of Ceremonies for Dudley Training and Enterprise Council Year 2000 Training Awards.
The event took place at the Copthorne Hotel Brierly Hill, Dudley and took the form of a banquet for 340 people with the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Dudley attending, along with other local dignitaries and
noblemen. They main part of the evening was an awards ceremony to recognize individuals, employers and training organizations who have demonstrated an outstanding achievement in the field of training.
During a break in the evening TV Chef Anthony Worrall Thompson took to the stage to provide a Ready Steady Cook style demonstration of his skills.
There was a touch-and-go moment for Gareth when he was struck down with a bout of food poisoning immediately after opening the evenings proceedings, luckily Gareth made a full recovery in time to return to the stage and continue hosting the show for the remainder of the evening.
"I still felt queasy and light headed when I was first on stage, but after half an hour or so I had forgotten completely that I felt so ill."
Amazing what a little willpower and grim determination can achieve, that goes for Gareth as well as the winners of the training awards that night.
