Cum On Feel the Jones

Gareth caught up with old pal recently, Mike Peters former lead singer of 80's rebel rockers The Alarm.

"Mike made me an offer I just couldn't refuse, he invited me to come and host a show for him in North Wales and then join him on stage to perform SLADE song" reports Gareth excitedly.

"I was an Alarm roadie for years, and in truth all I really wanted to do was play in the band instead of just tuning the guitars".

Gareth's long-time ambition was finally realized at the North Wales Convention Centre in Llandudno, Gwynedd in January at "The Gathering", an annual get-together for Mike Peters and Alarm fans.

For the 3rd encore, Jones armed with a guitar took to the stage to join Mike and The Children of the Revolution a spoof 70's Glam Rock band.

As this was a glam band, Gareth decided that he should have a 70's persona, and so complete with bovver boots, braces, top hat and Clockwork Orange eye make-up, "Kid Aggro" was born. "The Kid" and "Alan Insane" (Mike's alter ego) shared the microphone for a room shaking rendition of the Slade classic "Cum On Feel the Noize".

Gareth bellowed at the top of his lungs and the audience of 1000 stomped their feet. "There was a moment on stage where Mike and I caught each other's eye and we could both see just how much fun it was to be doing this together again. It was unreal! like some kind of absurd dream where I was a member of Slade, and so was Mike.

That'll be another one of Gareth's dream's realized then.
