Amy Wineglass – Back to Black
Oh be strong now, in my impact tests,
Dissipate the energy in the way that you know best,
I want to know I’m in the strongest car
Want to survive an impact like Robert Kubica
For a while I was messing with things I didn’t
understand,
I used flash exotic materials from labs in foreign lands
I tried lexan™, aramid fibres®, beryllium©
But in the end I returned to the fibre, carbon
That’s why I’m back to black.
Gimme some of that back to black
Hmm back to back, Hmm back to black
For its torsional rigidity I tried aluminium
Its strength-to-lightness ratio meant its use came at a premium
I got lousy data from our top test driver
Results so lame that once again
I’m back to carbon fibre
I’m back to black
Yeah Carbon fibre, I’m gonna “lay
up” several layers of cloth
Rotated at 45 degrees to each other until I’ve got a complete
circle of strength
It’s a composite material, nothing ethereal
just some carbon fibre filaments
Now’s the time to find a rhyme for the resin and other
elements
My technologies’ the best used in bullet-proof
vests, and I’ll be the one to beat
With the oxidisation and thermal pyrolosis of a poly acrylo
nitrile
Forming narrow graphene sheets. YEAH!
Back to black, carbon fibre black
Black as coal, back to black
Come to a rave in my autoclave
Carbonization for the nation
Hey Amy how do you like your carbon cloth?
I like it pre–impregnated.
Polymers, oh polymers
Diggin’ the graphene scene baby.
I got a high modus of elasticity
Gonna take it back to black
Diggin’ the graphene scene baby.
Baby back to black, back to black
Come to a rave in my autoclave
Baby take me back to black
Carbonization for the nation
Oh polymers
Carbon fibre baby
I want you back to black
Back to black back to black
I got a high modus of elasticity
And I’ve got tensile strength.
Written by Gareth Jones and produced by Gareth
Jones and Zog
Miss Wineglass's vocals performed by Amba.
