the BAFTA seminar in how to make successful television programmes for a youth
audience.
Also in 2002 Gareth hosted the prestigious ECTS Awards ceremony, celebrating
the great and the good in the world of Video Games at the games industry's annual
European Trade Show.
During the weekends over the Summer of 2002, Gareth toured Butlins holiday camps, presenting talks to hundreds of children about his programme How2, his career in television, and also taking science and engineering questions from the audience.
In 2000 Gareth hosted the "Dudley Training and Enterprise Council Year 2000
Awards"
In 2000 Gareth hosted regular Presenter Training workshops for the talent at
global broadcaster, Network Of The World. His former trainees now make regular
prime time appearances on BBC1, as well as on popular cable channels like
Bravo.
In 1999 Gareth wrote and hosted an interactive lecture How Can You Feel The Force? performed to an audience of 4,500 over three days at Alton Towers' Science, Engineering and Technology Week.
In 1998, at the Second World Summit on Television for Children, Gareth
spoke about digital broadcasting and hosted a seminar on excellence in children's
factual programming.
In 1997 Gareth regularly
hosted live "multimedia workshops" for Comet retail.
In 1995 Gareth was invited to speak on the subject of Information Technology at Cambridge University Union.
