Music and Sound
In 1976 Gareth was one of the founder members of two bands Backseat & The Units.

He released the EP "You're No Better" with "The Grids"
in 1979.
As Gaz Top in 1986, Gareth recorded " Don't Get Me Wrong " a tribute to America's Space programme.

Gareth then formed The Tuphelo Torpedoes in 1987. As guitar-playing singer, Gareth lead the band in various gigs across London.
Unfortunately, despite their early success and
promising demo recordings
Gareth's busy TV schedule meant that he couldn't devote enough time to the project,
and reluctantly the band split, after a hugely successful gig in Portsmouth
where they supported The Alarm and played to 3,000 people in 1988.

and add vocals to a recording of the Slade Classic "Cum On Feel The Noize" by
The Children Of The Revolution a spoof 70's band created by Mike Peters Of The
Alarm. The song appears as track 11 on the CD "The Children Of The Revolution
IV".
